Mission Statement

To identify and promote common interests, and professional relationships as well as foster collaboration among those within the American Pain Society who are interested in analgesic pharmacotherapy.

Professional Activities

  • Promote professional pharmacotherapy related professional education within the American Pain Society and others involved in managing patients with pain.
  • Promote and support analgesic pharmacotherapy related research.
  • Support pain related legislation that would enhance, endorse, and uphold the Ethical Principals Endorsed by the American Pain Society.
  • Support the use of drug therapy for the treatment of acute, recurrent, chronic, and pain at the end of life.
